I'm looking for someone who's familiar with designing trains. These trains will be the main form of transport in my game, which is about travelling through randomly generated terrain, surviving zombies and looting places.
Quality:
The train designs don't need to be extremely complicated and close to real life designs, I'm looking for a low-poly, mid-detail design. A good example would be Dead Rails newer trains. Extreme emphasis that these trains are meant to be fictional and not complicated for people, with the addition of feeling cozy.
Requirements per train:
Each train needs these features, which are a core part of the gameplay.
- A furnace, this is to burn fuel and cook zombies, so there needs to be at minimum, a big enough space to fit objects like a sideways barrel, ragdolls and more.
- A headlight, pretty much a light in front of the train to light up what's ahead,
- Enough space in front of the drivers seat for a display. The display shows things like distance travelled, fuel, a minimap-
- Doorways in and out of the train need to be pretty wide, to allow people to carry big bulky props inside.
- A chimney, wheels etc (of course)
- Triangle count of 10k - 25k for the engine, 15k for carriages, flexible if a higher count is needed of course
Important:
Different parts of the train NEED to be customizable, front headlight colour, furnace body colour, furnace fire colour, seat colour, etc, so please don't use building techniques that will lock the train into a specific colour or have everything molded into one
Train types that I need currently:
- Engine room variants, highly armoured, less armoured, faster engine etc.
- Carriages, so flat carriages, oil tank carriages, indoor carriages etc.
Future work:
Train skins, so adding classic textures to trains, or making goofy trains like an egg train for easter, a Halloween train etc.
