Hello, my team is currently in search of an individual who can create VFX for a sorcery game. If you are familiar with Harry Potter, you would more than likely familiar with the style we intend to reproduce.
Style
Realistic and grounded, not cartoony. Think cinematic and gritty: layered particles, smoke, sparks, embers, light flicker, and distortion. Avoid flat or oversaturated “Roblox-y” effects.
Each effect should read clearly in a fast duel, with a distinct silhouette and color per
Effects needed (approx. 25-30)
Spell casting: wand-tip charge, cast flash, projectile (a few color and energy variants), and impact and hit effects
Shields and defense: shield cast, shield hit and ripple, shield break
Elemental: fire (flame, burst, ember trail), water (stream, splash, vortex), wind (gust, tornado, debris), earth (rock eruption, shatter, dust)
Transformation: transform in and out (smoke, energy, or light based)
Teleportation: vanish and appear, with a smoke or particle burst for each
Utility and misc: levitation or telekinesis aura, binding or stun effect, healing, light, curse and dark magic, environmental ambience such as floating candle glow
Technical requirements
Built in Roblox Studio using ParticleEmitters, Beams, Trails, and Attachments, plus meshes, textures, and Lua scripting where needed
Optimized for performance, including mobile. Keep particle counts reasonable
Delivered as clean, organized, named models or rbxm files, with adjustable properties such as color, size, and duration
Original textures only, or properly licensed ones you can document
Disclaimer: You must own all assets you include, and must be willing to forfeit ownership of those assets by giving us full ownership license to these assets.
If you believe you are capable, and have open availability to complete this within a timely manner feel free to reach out. You'll be expected to provide consistent progress and meet deadlines. If you don't have a portfolio, you'll be ineligible for this position as this is a demanding job.
