About SkullWorks Studios
Hey! At SkullWorks Studios, we make games that are polished, fun, and give players a reason to come back. Our current main project is Ultimate Head Escape, and I’m serious about the game’s release and the updates afterward.
I’m looking for one experienced scripter and one experienced builder, and I’m actually looking for a long-term development team who is willing to stick with me for the long term of the game. These are part-time roles with regular weekly pay. I want serious developers who can stay involved and communicate with me and each other.
About the game and what is already finished
Ultimate Head Escape is about trying to complete the levels before the heads get you. You can escape the heads or become one yourself and chase other players. There are themed levels, mazes, moving obstacles, hazards, buttons and doors, along with head morphs and progression.
The game is already complete, and all 20 levels are made, but we are releasing 10 at the start.
I mostly just want the revamps for those first 10 levels to be finished before release. Level 1’s revamp is already complete, and its screenshot is just an example of the game.
You would be working with what is already in the game. Before starting, we would go through the remaining revamps together so you can see what needs changing and what is already finished.
What I need help with
Scripter
I need someone who can understand the existing Luau scripts and work on the scripting needed for the agreed level revamps. That includes making sure the level mechanics, obstacles, hazards, buttons and doors work properly with the builds. You need to be able to find and fix issues with your changes, test your work, and explain any new setup.
Builder
I need someone who can work with the existing maps and finish the agreed level revamps so they fit the game. Use the completed Level 1 revamp as a reference, and work with the scripter so the layouts and obstacles work with the gameplay.
For both roles, we would agree on what you are working on before starting. If you have suggestions, I want to hear them, but ask me before redoing completed areas or making major changes to existing systems.
Experience and working together
-
Have at least 3 years of experience in the role you’re applying for and know what you’re doing.
-
Show some of your past work and explain which parts you made yourself.
-
Be comfortable working with an existing Roblox project.
-
Let me know your available hours and give realistic estimates. We would agree on your responsibilities and schedule together.
-
Keep me and the other developer updated. And if you need help or more time, just let me know so we can work it out.
-
Keep your work organized and keep backups so changes can be reviewed and reversed.
-
Test your changes in Studio, including mobile and multiplayer where needed, before calling them finished.
-
Help fix issues caused by your work during the review period we agree on.
I’m looking for people who are actually interested in staying with the game after release. We would use a shared task board and Roblox Studio Team Create so that way we can keep track of what is being worked on.
AI and project rules
AI is only allowed for debugging and faster creation. You must understand what you’re doing and be able to explain, test, and fix your own work. For scripting, you must know how to code. AI is just there to help you progress faster.
What is allowed
-
Your own code and assets, or ones you have permission to use. Tell me about outside assets or packages before adding them.
-
Suggestions for improving the game. We can go over them together before making major changes.
-
AI for the purposes above, as long as you understand and test the result yourself.
What is not allowed
-
Stolen code, ripped assets, unlicensed content, malicious scripts, backdoors, or hidden access.
-
Untested AI output or work you do not understand.
-
Claiming someone else’s work as your own or misrepresenting your experience.
-
Replacing systems, deleting work, or redoing completed areas without discussing it with me first.
-
Publishing the game, changing monetization, or adding paid tools or dependencies without my approval.
-
Sharing private files, code, or access with somebody else or an outside AI service without my permission.
-
Bringing another person into the project or handing off your work without discussing it with me first.
-
Hiding problems or marking unfinished work as complete.
Payment and the long-term plan
Payment is in Robux, with regular weekly part-time pay. Weekly pay is negotiable based on your experience, available hours, and responsibilities.
The starting budget is 20,000 Robux total across both roles for the initial paid period.
Before we agree on payment, you would look through the game and the remaining revamps, then let me know your weekly rate and how many hours you’re available.
We would start with a short paid period and agree on your weekly pay, responsibilities, schedule, and how many weeks the starting budget covers before you begin. Payment follows the weekly schedule we agree on for your work and time, rather than being priced separately for every level.
Before the initial paid period ends, we would go over how the work is going and agree on the budget and weekly pay for continuing. Further paid periods would be agreed on before starting.
