I’m building a social fitness app centred around daily walking, streaks, friends and collectible characters. I’m looking for a talented character/creature designer to help establish the visual identity of the collection.
Users unlock companions through REAL walking achievements. They’re essentially digital trophies with personality — not Tamagotchi-style pets. No feeding, battles, XP, coins, weapons, etc.
The goal is simple: someone sees another user’s companion and thinks “That looks sick. How do I get that?”
Target: primarily 18–35.
I want the designs to feel premium, modern, distinctive, stylish and collectible, with strong silhouettes and enough personality for users to develop favourites.
I DON’T want generic cute blobs, childish pets, Pokémon copies, fantasy RPG monsters, excessive armour/weapons or obvious AI-looking designs.
I’m starting with 3 hero companions:
Moss — accessible early unlock. Friendly, relaxed, slightly sleepy and highly likeable.
Vyro — difficult/aspirational unlock. Agile, alert, confident and more visually striking.
Aureon — end-game Legendary (10M lifetime steps). Calm, powerful, prestigious and instantly recognisable.
All characters should share a consistent visual DNA so they clearly belong to the same universe.
Eventually they’ll become polished 3D animated characters with idle/breathing, walking, tap reactions, goal celebrations and unique unlock animations, so designs must translate well into 3D.
They’ll appear on profiles, leaderboards, unlock screens and TikTok/Instagram content, from small icons/silhouettes to full-screen reveals.
For this first stage I’m looking for visual direction, silhouette/concept exploration, colour/material ideas and polished character designs/turnarounds suitable for eventual 3D production.
I’m not just looking for someone to draw three descriptions — I want someone with strong character-design instincts who can help establish the visual language of an entire collectible universe.
