Hey! I’m currently looking for an experienced Roblox scripter to help me build the core gameplay system for a dodgeball game.
The game is inspired by the dodgeball mode from Mario Sports Mix on the Nintendo Wii. I already have programming experience myself, but I’m still learning Roblox Studio and how to properly structure a Roblox project. Because of that, I’m looking for someone who can build a clean core system that I can later expand on myself.
The core system would include:
Throwing and catching balls
Passing the ball to other players
Player hit detection
Damage when a player gets hit
A basic gameplay loop
A basic dodgeball court / environment based on my reference
Environment interaction, such as balls bouncing off walls or being redirected
Clean, expandable code structure
Optional additional mechanics that could be discussed separately:
Team combo attacks
Player skills / abilities
Special throws
More advanced ball behavior
Extra polish and effects
These additional mechanics are not part of the basic core system, but they are features I would like to explore depending on the price and scope.
I’m especially looking for someone who has experience with sports games or ball-based gameplay systems. Experience with games similar to Volleyball Legends, Racket Rivals, or other fast-paced sports games would be a big plus.
Smooth and responsive gameplay is very important to me, so I’m looking for someone who understands how to make the mechanics feel good, polished, and fun to play.
Please send me a portfolio or examples of previous work, especially if you have worked on similar sports, ball, or movement-based systems before.
Payment depends on how complex the system will be and how much can realistically be included. My starting budget is around $100, but I’m open to discussing the price depending on your experience, the scope, and the quality of the system.
My goal is to publish an MVP by the end of the year.
If you’re interested, feel free to contact me with your portfolio, previous experience, and an estimated price for the core system.
