Hey I'm Preston, solo dev on a storm-themed brainrot tycoon game on Roblox. Started this about 2 weeks ago and already have core assets in place. I do modeling myself so I can work alongside you and communicate exactly what you or I envision, so it’s not just me throwing tasks at you.
What you'll be making:
Two types of models:
- Storm Cloud (Lucky Block equivalent):
- A storm cloud shaped model that players collect and open
- When opened it hatches into a random rarity brainrot character
- This is one of the core collectible mechanics of the game – needs to look clean and visually appealing to the player
Brainrot Characters:
- Regular brainrot style characters, no storm theme required
- 10 rarity tiers: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary, Mythic, Astral, Secret, Godly, Divine
- Higher rarity = more detailed and impressive
- Characters spawn in their rarity zone on the map with a 30 second despawn timer
- Starting with 2-3 characters per tier, Common through Mythic first (overtime more models)
- Higher tiers added as development progresses
- New characters every event (ongoing work after launch)
- Models need to be optimized for Roblox and ready for animations
Style reference: Escape the Tsunami, Steal a Brainrot, Be a Lucky Block — low poly Roblox style characters with exaggerated proportions and bright colors
What to send:
- Portfolio of your best work – character models preferred but show me whatever you've got
Requirements:
- Must know how to get models into Roblox, Blender preferred
- Portfolio required
- Long term mindset (this isn’t a one time job, the game will grow and will need continuous development)
- Must be consistently available and communicative
- Open to feedback and direction
- English speaking
- Bonuses: Passion for character design and can take a brief description and run with it creatively
