Project Overview
We are developing a polished, high-quality FPS experience on Roblox inspired by fast-paced arena shooters, with a strong focus on responsiveness, impact, and overall game feel. Our goal is to deliver a game that exceeds the standard of current titles in the genre through refined mechanics, clean presentation, and exceptional audio-visual feedback.
Team Structure
3 Animators (Viewmodels & weapon animations)
2 Scripters (Core systems, weapons, gameplay logic)
1 SFX Designer (as of now)
Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SFX Designer responsible for creating and implementing all weapon-related audio. This includes gunfire, reloads, handling sounds, hit markers, and environmental audio cues that enhance gameplay clarity and immersion.
You will play a critical role in defining the “feel” of combat - ensuring every weapon sounds responsive, satisfying, and distinct.
We do have another SFX editor so the commitment would not be huge.
Responsibilities
- Design and produce high-quality sound effects for all weapons (automatic, semi-auto, snipers, etc.)
- Create layered, impactful gunshot audio with attention to realism and gameplay feedback
- Develop reload, equip, and handling sounds that align with animation timing
Requirements
Experience creating SFX for games, preferably FPS or action-based
Strong understanding of audio layering, timing, and spatial awareness
Ability to design punchy, clean, and satisfying weapon sounds (not muddy or overprocessed)
Familiarity with Roblox audio implementation is a plus, but not required
Good communication and ability to collaborate in a small, focused team
Commitment
Approximately 2 (ish) hours per week
Flexible schedule, but consistent weekly contribution is expected
What We’re Looking For
We are not aiming for average. We want weapon audio that feels modern, responsive, and distinctly better than typical Roblox FPS games.
